The State (TV Mini-Series 2017) Synopsis

The state mini series were broadcast worldwide by National Geographic .The state film was directed by Peter Kosminsky, a television series consisting of 4 episodes. Men and women from all over the World are travelling to syria to join the islamic state. The series about Four young British Müslims (Ony Uhiara, Sam Otto, Shavani Cameron, and Ryan McKen) join to İslamic State dramatizing their experiences of joining the Islamic State. Someone say the series to prevent people to join ISIS “If you're thinking of joining ISIS, this is a cautionary tale.” In my opinion in this series just those not considered also something transferred to people or provide perspective to people about müslims.

Spirit of jihad As mention Ony Uhiara “Islamic state is the state of muslims and we are responsible making the growth and flourish.” Four people who will go to Syria and live in the Islamic states and will sacrifice their lives for the development, growth, protection of Islam but these four people are unaware of where they go and what they will encounter. They just wanted to live and live the jihad, one of the important tasks of Islam but pure and clean, these thoughts will face fake bad and dirty thinking in the future. Different lives of different people and different interpretation of different groups of religion. That people leave their lives at half-time and leave all their love for jihad, a spiritual task, and sacrifice life to this path. They will never hesitate because they know they will be martyrs when they are killed however  there is a way of making jihad there is a pattern there is a rule and there is an honor. In short, there is a law that Allah wants but people are doing their own law.

We witnessed the killing of many people in the serious, heads hanging on poles, children play ball with human head, children meet with blood and weapons at younger ages, those children trained to be fighter. Maybe it is called fundamentalist, maybe radicalist Islam, maybe İslamic terror but If we had known something about Islam, we could understand Islam is not beside these words Islam is against these words. Many of non-müslim they translated word jihad into the english as holy war and unfortunately many thoughts are müslims even unfortunately, some scholars in the Muslims in this way they are translate. The Qur'an and the hadiths, and nowhere else have they mentioned the holy war. The jihad we see on the line is the trump card they are in possession of so bad people can reach their targets and use some well-intentioned people for their interest.

To conclusion, the series perhaps wants to inform people or prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Four people offer us with a sad story. As we talked about before “If you're thinking of joining ISIS, this is a cautionary tale.” The purpose of series can give information to prevent the bad situation but in my opinion ıt was not just about preventing it is also perspectives who is looking müslims like terorists. Some of the frames I saw in the serious were made against the entire Islamic world and Muslims, not just a set of muslims who they are real terorists. One of them in second part of serious. In the second part of the series Ony Uhiara is sitting in the internet café and the camera is watching the computer monitör (2nd epsiods 41:22) there is the most important word of Islam in the place where the camera takes. Writes “La ilahe illallah muhammeden resulullah” on the desktop of the computer but the director only takes half of that words and the meaning of the sentence changes completely because the focus of the director's camera on “la ilahe” that mean “there is no god.” some people might think it is a mistake but I do not agree because 6 seconds is giving this frame to the viewers and it's very obvious when the camera just wants to take the place.
